The Golden Bird

Audiobook

Part of the celebrated fairy tale collection by the Brothers Grimm, "The Golden Bird" is the story of three princes and their pursuit of a priceless golden bird.

Every year the king's apple tree is robbed of one golden apple in the middle of the night. Determined to solve the mystery, the king's gardener sends his sons to watch over the tree. The youngest discovers the thief—a beautiful golden bird. The boy tries to shoot it but misses, knocking a single feather from the creature. Because the feather is so valuable, the king sends his three sons on a quest to capture the bird. Along the way each prince meets a talking fox. The first two princes ignore the fox's advice and abandon their journey. The third listens to the helpful fox, and he finds himself swept away on an exciting, dangerous adventure.
